Joe Broughton, Paloma Trigás, Frank Moon and Tom Chapman are The Urban Folk Quartet. Four highly accomplished musicians, a dozen instruments and four voices coming together to craft a knockout show of globally–influenced, electrifying acoustic music that has been taking the European folk scene by storm.
Summer 2011 saw them embark on their biggest adventure yet - a three month rollercoaster ride of gigs across Spain, Germany, Canada, Italy and the UK. Playing everything from secluded coves to 30,000 capacity festival fields, The UFQ’s heady brew of infectious, cutting edge folk ignites audiences and has won them a devoted fan base far and wide.
The UFQ will be releasing their third album with a special album launch party in Birmingham on 3rd March 2012. If you can't make that, you can preorder from the albums page.
Recorded in the middle of 2011's whirlwind world tour, “Off Beaten Tracks” is a unique record; Both a travelogue of musical snapshots from the road - compositions dedicated to Spanish bus rides or The Vancouver Island coastline, for example - and a collection of highlights from the set that had people dancing the night away at festivals from The Bay of Biscay to edge of The North Pacific.
Don't miss your chance to catch The UFQ live this spring.
